National Survey of Non-Union Talent
AFTRA has created an online talent survey of non-union talent to better understand their thoughts and attitudes about the acting profession, the industry, and current compensation rates, union and non-union. A copy of the survey is contained in this letter, which can be copied and given to performers who are unable to take the survey online.
There will always be a non-union contingent vying for performance work, and we routinely recommend that actors who are not ready to make a commitment to the union get experience in these productions. We are pro-union, not anti-non-union. It is in all of our best interests to maintain a healthy, thriving production economy, and we constantly strive to maintain fair wages for performers, which also helps non-union talent.
This survey can only be a success if we reach as many non-union performers as possible city by city. If you know of an actors site that can post the link as well that would be great!

The survey only takes a few minutes, and is completely anonymous unless the respondents wish to identify themselves. Identities and personal information will not be shared, and participation in the survey is strictly voluntary.
